Create New Container Containers are important building blocks you can use to create re-usable HTML code blocks that can be shared across a Site. The following are example containers.
By including multiple Containers in a Channel's Index Template Code and Page Template Code fields you can assemble entire HTML pages without writing any HTML code, because the code and any programming logic is inside the individual containers. Containers can be reused across multiple Channels. Example Code: [Placed in a Channel's Index Template Code and Page Template Code fields] <cfinclude template="../../containers/header.cfm"> How do I get the code for Containers? Before you add your site templates to I.C.E., use a Web design tool such as Dreamweaver or a text editor like Notepad to separate the code into distinct chunks for the header, footer, menus, forms etc. Each chunk is then added to I.C.E. as a Container.
Creating New Containers Select Container is the Create drop-down. Enter Container Title (single word without an extension), an optional description and the HTML code for the container. If this container contains dynamic content, you also add this in here (see Create New Channel). Set the Status to Active and Save. You can preview the Container by clicking the Container Title on the following page. |
