Create New Language

I.C.E. allows you to create Sites that support an unlimited number of Languages. You can build multi-lingual Sites that have Channels in different languages or you can program Sites to retrieve content based on a Site Member's current language.

Note: If you are building a single language site, it is not necessary to use this feature unless you plan to add additional languages in the future.

Create New Language

Select Language in the Create drop-down and enter a Site Language (e.g. English or Chinese). Enter an abbreviation for the language (e.g. en or cn). In the Language Type field, select Default if this is the default Language for the site or select Other. There can be only one default language for a site. Set the Status to Active and click Save. 

Note: Once you create a Site Language, that language becomes an option when creating Channels, Pages etc. and you can then programmatically retrieve content in the right language using the Content Widgets or in your database queries.
